Operational and experience-sharing workshop on the subject of international exchange of information on the detection and recovery of criminal assets between Belgium and Lebanon
01-03 February 2022, Brussels

EuroMed Justice Programme organised in Brussels, Belgium, a technical assistance facility (TAF) workshop on sharing experience on international exchange of information for the detection and recovery of criminal assets between the Belgian and Lebanese competent authorities.

A delegation of 7 Lebanese judges and prosecutors took part of this event and exchanged with representatives of relevant Belgian units (The Federal Prosecutor’s Office, The Federal Police, OCSC (Central Organ for Seizure and Confiscation, and CTIF (Financial Intelligence Processing Unit)) .

The workshop represented a good opportunity for the criminal justice authorities of the two countries to share their experience with regard to inter-institutional cooperation and coordination between financial intelligence units, the central bodies for the management of seizures and law enforcement and judicial authorities and for a better international judicial cooperation.

The workshop further contributed to the overall objectives of the EuroMed Justice Programme by supporting the cross-Mediterranean judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
